Investisseurs étrangers en France – Le come-back des américains
La part d’investisseurs interrogés considérant l’hexagone attractif atteint le niveau historique de 64%. Mais les faiblesses structurelles demeurent, dans un contexte social par ailleurs compliqué.
L’an dernier, en pleine crise des «Gilets jaunes», les investisseurs américains voyaient une France à la croisée des chemins. Soit l’exécutif parvenait à se mobiliser pour poursuivre les réformes et serait alors en mesure de renforcer son attractivité, soit la crise sociale mettait un coup d’arrêt à la transformation du pays, affectant ainsi son image à l’étranger. Le Baromètre 2020 de la Chambre de commerce américaine en France (AmCham) et du cabinet de conseil Bain & Company, publié ce jeudi matin, révèle que le pays a su «en partie répondre aux attentes des investisseurs américains, en maintenant notamment le rythme et la trajectoire des réformes».
Interrogés cette année en décembre et janvier, ils ont réussi à se projeter au-delà des mouvements sociaux et des grèves contre la réforme des retraites. Ainsi, ceux qui restent aujourd’hui les premiers investisseurs étrangers et les premiers employeurs étrangers dans l’Hexagone, font état d’un regain d’optimisme, après un coup de mou l’an dernier. D’une part, ils sont 40% à estimer que le contexte économique en France évoluera positivement pour leur secteur d’activité dans les prochains mois, là où ils n’étaient que 30% il y a un an, mais 72% en 2017, année de l’élection d’Emmanuel Macron.
D’autre part, ils sont 64% (un niveau historique), à considérer la France comme une «bonne ou une très bonne destination» d’investissement en Europe.
