Manageurs faux semblants…Le « cool-management » ne fonctionne plus!

La génération Y, une population qui a influé de nouvelles façons de travailler (slashing, meilleur équilibre vie pro/vie perso, freelancing, entrepreneuriat, etc.) et qui m’a fait définitivement ouvrir les yeux

Les milléniaux, ou génération Y, regroupent l’ensemble des personnes nées entre le début des années 80 et la fin des années 90. Il s’agit de jeunes qui ont entre 30 et 40 ans aujourd’hui.

La lettre Y se prononce « why » en anglais (« pourquoi ») et c’est la question favorite des individus de la génération Y. Les plus audacieux de cette génération ont souvent démontré de bien bousculer les «règles» ou les soit disant «idées reçues», car personnellement dans ma génération (j’appartiens à la génération X », née entre 1969 et 1979), la norme était encore le CDI mais avec la recherche de sens, (dans le meilleur des cas), de reconnaissance et d’un équilibre vie pro/perso. Si le management descendant autoritaire ne fonctionne plus, le «cool-management», non seulement est vite démasqué, mais il est considéré comme une pratique encore plus négative, car vue comme une mensonge calculée et pré-méditée. En effet, lorsque les discours en entretien sont enjolivés et que les promesses ne sont pas tenues, les candidats n’hésitent plus à partir et à avertir les prochains autour d’eux. Les discours classique du tuteur du style «…tu sais, moi aussi j’ai été esclave à mes débuts et à ton âge je rentrai très tard le soir » sous-entendu « donc toi aussi tu vas t’y coller ». Certains jeunes aujourd’hui, sont même très actifs sur le web, les réseaux sociaux et commencent à gagner suffisamment d’argent pour payer leurs études ou clairement devenir des entrepreneurs affirmés. Ce n’est pas la majorité, mais le changement de mentalité est bien présent.

Aujourd’hui, on ne peut pas ne pas remarquer, que les jeunes entreprenants s’investissent davantage, s’ils partagent la vision de l’entreprise et si on co-créée avec eux. Quand je parle de vision j’entends par là, autre chose que des chiffres à aller chercher. Si vous travaillez convaincus d’une mission, les chiffres découleront d’eux-mêmes. 

Une nouvelle vie professionnelle

Ce que j’aime davantage est la sensation d’être en parfait équilibre avec moi-même et le monde extérieur. J’ai finalement retrouvé la liberté de travailler comme je l’ai toujours voulu. Car à mes début effectivement, j’avais commencé en tant qu’indépendant, mais pas avec suffisamment d’expérience. J’adore conseiller mes clients et d’imaginer la meilleure stratégie pendant toute la mission, afin que les projets puissent aboutir à la meilleure solution possible. Je m’occupe et j’apprend également tout ce qui concerne la refonte de la stratégie web, marketing et éditoriale de sites web. Cohérence du site, expressions et mots clés, rédaction de pages ou encore la mise en place de blogs et appels à l’action! Le prochain objectif sera donc de créer des sites internet pour des TPE? Ce qui m’anime dans tout ça c’est de travailler et m’impliquer dans différents secteurs que j’affectionne et d’avoir des missions variées tout en restant dans mon cœur de métier qui est la profession de manageur et conseil professionnel (en tant qu’architecte-ingénieur) dans le domaine de l’immobilier. Plus de bouchons quotidiens ou des soucis de transport, ce qui représente un gain de temps, d’énergie et productivité incroyable, pour mon travail et bien sûr pour ma vie privée. J’ai la chance de pouvoir alterner le travail chez moi ou chez le client, dans un café-restaurant  ou encore dans la salle d’attente d’un hôtel 5 étoiles. Cela me permet donc de rester pro-actif et productif et garder un lien social riche.

Quête de sens à ton travail !

Vous avez surement déjà entendu des mots comme ceux-ci par vos patrons, « on attend que vous soyez force de proposition » pour ensuite couper toute initiative et n’avoir aucun dialogue ou partage de vision d’entreprise. Cela donne bien sûr, la sensation de travailler au petit bonheur la chance, sans trop savoir le « pourquoi »!  Aujourd’hui c’est absolument l’inverse, car les clients attendent réellement un regard et une vision extérieure. Ils partagent pleinement leur ambition et objectifs et c’est comme cela que je peux les aider au maximum. Je ne cache pas tout de même, que ce que m’animais le plus, était de retrouver ma liberté et donner un sens plus large à mon implication dans le travail et toutes les autres activités même personnelles. Quand on travail et on est  à son compte on a bien sûr d’autres inconvénients, car il faut vraiment s’occuper de tout. Aller également à la recherche des motivations les plus inspirantes et gratifiantes, mais elles ont un poids moins fort dans la balance à côté de ce que je recherchais et qui l’on obtient comme satisfaction pour être épanoui.

L’organisation une des clés pour réussir 

Une organisation flexible avec des horaires souples, et du télétravail alterné à des déplacements intelligents. Ceci associé à un périmètre non figé dans la typologie de clients et de missions. Travailler dans le management de projets  que pour un seul secteur par exemple, serait rédhibitoire et pas très enrichissant. J’adore alterner le travail de bureau au chantier, ou encore le travail de chez moi (dans mon cocoon, lorsque je produis du contenu) et également échanger avec mes clients. Rencontrer du monde est stimulant. J’aime être multi-casquettes et évoluer dans différents univers.

Mes conseils pour se lancer dans l’aventure entrepreneuriale 

La toute première chose est déjà de ressentir cet espèce de bouillonnement qui vient de l’intérieur et qui nous donne l’envie de faire et réaliser profondément quelque chose de plus pour nous et pour les autres. De croire  profondément en nous même et dans nos capacités à réussir. Cet envie doit être bouleversante, ou encore contagieuse, car ça va donner envie à nos prospects de devenir nos clients et de travailler avec nous. Mais il faut surtout qu’elle soit naturelle, puisque il faut la ressentir vraiment à l’intérieur de nous même. Ensuite, il y a toute une séries de conseils plutôt connus mais qu’ils sont également importants, comme  « oser commencer,  passer à l’action sans prétendre que tout soit parfait dès le début ». Se faire confiance et ne pas avoir peur de se tromper, car c’est en faisant des erreurs que l’on va apprendre de plus en plus et capitaliser une expérience que sera la notre et qui personne d’autres pourras nous enlever…
